Park brake

Hi guys,

after a little help. My park brake doesn't hold the truck any more and needs to for its MOT(UK road worthy test) next month. I haven't had chance to look yet but how is it adjusted? its a 4x4 auto if it makes a difference.

Also is it a pad and shoe job or does it clamp the rear disk??

The park brake is the typical drum brake setup inside the rear rotor, you should be able to adjust it like a normal drum brake.

Before you tear into it too deep... check the cables. I changed my rear brakes last weekend and one of the parking brake cables had come unhooked from the little bracket on the back.

I never use my parking brake so I'd never noticed anything... it wasn't too hard to hook back up though.
