Need help with tire size!
Need help with tire size!
Sorry guys but this is another one of those leveling kit/ tire threads. I searched many different threads and couldn't find a good answer, so I'm posting my question.
Would a 275/60R20 fit nicely on my 05 f150 xlt 4x4 with a 2" leveling kit?
I want to get either Nitto Terra Grapplers or Cooper Zeon LTZ's but the tire sizes are limited. I don't want huge tires on my truck because I do a lot of driving and it will kill my mpg and put a lot of stress on the truck. However I do want to make the truck look more aggressive and do well off-road and in the snow and also well on the highway.
Let me know what you guys think of that tire size or what size you would recommend. Thanks

with a 4wd you can fit a 35" tire on stock rims.
no wider than a 12.5" tire.
if you choose a rim with similar backspacing and width to an OEM you can still run the tire sizes i already listed.
only rubbing you will get is on frame at full lock.

id stick with a 33 if you dont want the stuffed look, also id stick with an all terrain for better on road manners.

What wheels are going to run? The factory 20's use a 275-55-20 tire that are 32" tall. If your running a factory wheel, you can run the 275-60-20 w/o a leveling kit on a 4x4. There is a member out in colorado who is running a 305-55-20 on factory 20's w/o a leveling kit on a STX 4x4.
Now aftermarket wheels may require a level kit depending on the B.S. the stockers are 20x8.5 w/6.5" B.S.

I am putting aftermarket 20" rims. They are KMC Hotwheels, right now they're getting powdercoated black. Their offset is just a little off from factory so they'll stick out just a hair more than the factory rims.
I just dont want to run a big tire on the truck but I want to have a bigger tire than factory.
I hated the rake on the truck and I wanted it to sit level, however with the factory size tires it looks weird. The tires are too small, but i think 35's would be too big for the truck.

id stick with a 33" personally. check out mblouir's truck. hes got 33's on 20's with a 2 1/2 leveling kit.
theres another thread on the first page with the same set up pretty much your looking at to give you a general idea of how 33's will look

does anybody know who makes a 33x10.5 R20? i want a good all terrain tire thats also great on the highway.
i like the 33x12.5 that mblouir has, however i think that those would be too wide on my truck

A 275/60/20 works out to be a 33 x 11.00 x 20 which is about as close as you can get.
I think that I'm going to go with 275/60R20 Cooper Zeon LTZ's. I'm getting my rims back on Wednesday from the powdercoater, my leveling kit goes on Thursday, and I'm probably going to put the tires on either Thursday after the leveling kit install or on Friday!!
