Wear and tear related to specific style of driving.
how about you guys lay off the parent act and answer his questions. he has already admitted it's stupid to do

you've already got the bigger trans, axle and motor. so they are better capable of handling the stress you are putting on the drivetrain.
the only MAJOR detractor I can see really is your front bumper. it's a heavy bitch. So that weight coupled with your aggressive driving style might cause some early ball joint failure.
especially if you are driving on rough roads. that extra weight will cause the front end to sway more than typical
unlike alot of the people in this forum, I think your tranny will be fine. these trucks are hitting there 3-5 yr old points about now, and people are experiencing some failures. it is the nature of the game. most people find this site because of an issue. not because they are F-150 fanatics.
I feel the exact same as some of y'all are posting
but
I also drove my 06 like he described. couldn't help it. damn hard not to get into the boost, and I was a lead-foot prior to that as well

other stuff like the brakes and tires are of course going to wear quicker. just keep an eye on them, and change out accordingly.

ask the 98-03 guys how things were going in about 2006
on the flip side, you gotta pay to play. so don't be surprised if the tranny does get issues later in life. It has a possibility of happening. Just something to consider for later down the road and you get higher mileage.

I'd have to agree with Tylus. My gears looked fine when I stepped up to the 4.56 ratio. I'll perhaps suggest changing the transfluid sooner than waiting later. Maybe get the Mag-Hytec differential cover and changing the fluided in the rear end with some royal purple.
Ball joints for sure are going to take the brunt of the punishment. Fairly easy DIY project if you have the tools down the road. I'd don't think you've upgraded your shocks yet but that would help out some.

Either the tranny is fine or it isn't.
All trannys have the chance of giving you trouble even if you take proper care of it. Driving it the way he is claiming, he is more likely to suffer these problems sooner than later.
Will he suffer them is unknown.

I don't believe so. However, I do feel his tranny might have a little bit of it's useable life shortened.
so if he could realistically expect say 150,000 miles (numbe from my Butt BTW)...maybe he is down to about 130,000 miles. Kind of like smoking a cigarrette. Won't kill you now, but it will take some off the top
I've got a question too.
And I'd like it answered without a bunch of remarks about my driving.
Will there be any ill effects to my differential from constant high speed driving with the drivers side of the truck on the sidewalk and the passenger side on peoples front lawns?
This is due to the fact that the sidewalks aren't wide enough to accomodate the entire vehicle and I got places to go in a hurry.
(I do have limited slip, if you need to consider that in your response)

thats exactly what i was saying tylus i know what rough driving does to a tranny and such the only thing is i know it will go maybe a little bit sooner than normal and i agree fully on preventative mantainence im always checking my ball joints and brakes just because my style of driving is aggresive and were i live here in west virginia the roads are not exactly up to par lol but as in every instance always fix stuff before its to late and its not gonna be a hassle just take care of your truck and it will take care of you
I say the brakes will be the first to go I got 53k almost 54k on my truck and pretty drive it like you do hard acceration fast corners plus alot of slaming on the brakes. I had to replace the pads on all 4 corners at 36k.
Hello all first time posting here... i have a 2008 ford f150 4.2...and i drive this truck pretty hard i use this truck pretty hard also...pullin my race truck and everything else i can hood up to ...ive got the 3.73's with the factory limited slip ...this truck has been drove hard from 6.8 miles...and it now has 29000 miles on it ... its been in mud its whole life from what i can see its a tough old truck ...i also have a 02 f150 with the 4.2 i bought new now has 145k no major problems.....but boths trucks have always had royal purple oil and a k&n oil filter ....i also converted all the fluids to royal purple from day one...trans and rear gear..and i also change my fluid on the 08 at every 8000 miles from day one...and the 02 every 15000 miles....and have installed trans coolers on both..the 02 doesnt get drove hard anymore but still pulls a race truck every now and again
You can drive these as hard as you want, they are pretty tough. But how long you will keep it up will depend on how much gas you want to feed it. Plus with hard launches eventually taking a toll on the drivetrain, I imagine you will be braking hard as well-so be prepared to replace brakes/rotors before their time as well.
