I think that is illegal... I remember a guy that came to my dad's sign shop for truck letterin and had a mid 90's dodge with the ram covers that showed the ram when lit up... cops made him remove them... there is not enough light going to be visible and they will get you for it I have a feeling

Yeah I'm sure if you made the symbol larger it wouldn't be as bad. They sell a lot of tail light covers like this, but if you noticed all of them don't really cover a whole lot of the tail light more just but a pattern in with a few bars running here and there lol.

Possibly, but it is still risky... the only thing I can think of is a tinted type vinyl for the "opaque" part so that it still allows light to get through, but would also allow for he non tinted star to show brighter... I think they make vinyl like that that is just tinted.

Well the nightshades is a spray... here's an idea as well... if you found another set of taillights to use... you could have a shop make a mask (basically a solid design of the star and use the nightshades AROUND the mask of the star... I think you have to sand and stuff to use the nightshades but it would still let light show through... You could then peel of the star and you are left with with star inside and the darkened rest of the light for contrast. Clear the whole thing and it would be protected... just an idea
