Theres acutally a few statutes that can be written for it. it depends how creative one wants to get. If you do it with tint or vinyl it wouldnt be so bad so you can take it off if it becomes a problem. Personally I wouldnt care, but I cant speak for everyone...

 

Like Truckguy said, you could use the nightshades spray which is cheaper than the vinyl, but it would probably take you longer to do, what with having to wetsand and polish and of course taping the emt star onto the tails where you want them. I taped off the backup portion of my tails and nightshaded them. There's plenty of info in the how-to section of the site on how to do this. Here's a pic of my tails after I did mine
