Question 1.5" leveling kit questions. Help needed..

Hey guys, I want to get a 1.5" front leveling kit for my '04 FX4.

1) Which are the best ones to get, and why?

2) Are they easy to install?

3) Do I need to get an alignment or anything after?

5) Are there any downsides at all to these? Rough ride, poor handling, etc?

Thanks guys!

1) most people use autosprings from ebay (about $70 shipped)
2) yes, if you have the right tools
3) yes you need an alignment
4) only downside is if you get a 3" which gives you bad angles and pre mature wear

id get a 2" or 2 1/2" instead of a 1 1/2" i doubt you would sit level.

Yeah 1 1/2 wont sit level. I'm not sure about my issue, but a year after the 2 1/2 my front sits about 1/2 lower. I would wait until people that had theres for longer could answer this question for sure for you.

On to your questions.
1) I have an autospring. 90 bucks off ebay.
2) It's not to bad as long as you follow the instructions.
3) You will for sure need an alignment after you finish
4) Ride quality shouldn't change any.

We're talking about a simple steel spacer here. Not rocket science. Save yourself the cash and get the autospring spacer. It's **** $65 **** shipped to your door. That's IT!

The autospring also compensates for rubbing with a very slight offset. Cheapest upgrade you'll purchase.

All trucks do not have the same rake. Some can go with a 2.5" kit and be level and others cannot. I went with the 1.5" Autospring and also installed their 3" rear block kit due to the fact that I was "level" based off of the tape measure, but the front "looked" higher. After installing the 3" block I am 3/4" higher in the rear on both sides. Looks great, easy install, and no problems whatsoever. Just be sure to get an alignment afterwards.

my alignment was about 80 bucks but I live in a small town in Canada so things seem to cost more

Make sure you get a solid spacer, stay away from welded ones as they can break. I picked up a 2" spacer on ebay for $50. Make sure you get a front end alignment or your tires will be eaten up. LT285/70R17 fits perfectly after the level

Where did you acquire that info? If you can't back it up with numbers, please don't post it as all the AS spacers are welded and I've never seen a single one on these forums break.

Since you've been a member to this site less than a full 24 hours, do a search and you won't find a single entry in a single thread regarding an AS spacer breaking......

Why Hellbent rather than say ProComp. Price?
