metal on metal noise....NOT MY BRAKES

hey guys...had a quick question. the other day i was driving into work, going in a straight line down the highway. all of a sudden i can hear this loud metallic noise from the front wheels it seems. when i stopped the noise went away and never came back. that night i brought my truck into my shop and checked the brakes thinking maybe rust or a pad shim rubbing against the rotor. there was rust, i removed it all, even removed the rotors and took off all the rust inside that formed around where it sits on the hub. NOTE-the brakes are good and still have about 85% pad left, and the rotors are ok. a couple of days go by and it happend again, like last time it stops when i stop the truck and i feel kind of like a jerk right before i fully stop, almost like a clunk in the front wheels.
the truck is stock besides level kit and 315/70R17's on eagle alloys.

I just wanted to know if anyone had experienced this before?
i'm hope it's not something with the transfer case

I had the same exact problem with mine and it turned out to be that the wheel bearing was worn out. Got it replaced today, drove it home and it was perfectly fine!! Hope this helped

Might be your Integrated wheel ends grinding, I just replaced my IWE Solenoid to prevent an issue.
