Question for the tuned

OK all I know this question or some like it have been asked, but here is mine so please bear with me..... I drive a 08 Screw FX4, 5.4 with 3 1/2 CAI, saleen exhaust, 3:73's and 20's...I pull from time to time a 24 ft Bayliner boat rated @ 7,000 lbs. I only have 6,000 miles on the truck...I HATE the lag due to the throttle by wire set up, but I'm also worried about voiding my 100,000 mile warr. but I'd like more power...will kill for the throttle responce my 99 Expy has (5.4 and mustang gt cams, and pulls 20MPG at 65mph) I was looking into the Edge, or the Gryphon....I've heard that due to the mods I have now (CAI, Exhaust) that I'm runnin dangerously lean right now.... The truck idles @ 500 rpm in gear warmed up, at times I'll get on it and the truck will speed up, but I think it should be down shifting to speed up faster....my Expy would have!....What would be the best tuner/chip ect.. should I get to help with how the truck runs and performes, tows? Does adding the edge help fatten the truck up? I heard that the tune in them was made for the stock intake ect... and the after market mods might hurt my motor if an egde was added. Does the custon tunes cut out the factory sensors like the dealer says causing others to go out sooner?

Who is running a tuner, and how long have you had it/ miles ran with it and what if any issues came from it.

I'm not worried about the MPG so much..I can tiptoe the gas with the best of them when needed...but I want the truck to perform like it should......5K for a charger is out too....good thought though.

thanks in advance....

I have a xcal III with Troyer custom tunes, a AF1 coldair, and muffler delete. I have been running this setup for about 25,000 miles now with no problems. I also tow right much and the custom tunes help. They also help with throttle response but i still dont think its as good as my previous generation F-150 on that.

ps, its good to see someone else from va one here, thats also a plus cus you can actually take your truck directly to Troyer like I did. He is in Covington

X-cal3 tuned by VMP. Have had the truck tuned since about January and love it. On the performance setting the difference in power is very noticable, however I typically keep mine in the tow mode as I pull trailers a lot. There is an increase in power in the tow mode however the difference in shifting is what I really like.

Might as well get the Gryphon since you have all the other basic mods. Have them write you a tow tune with what ever octane you prefer.
