power adjustable pedals install success!

Some months ago I posted the question here asking if anyone had installed Ford's power adjustable pedals as an add-on mod - i.e. not having come from the factory. My 06 Lariat 4x4 did not have them and I wanted them to assist my vertically challenged short legs. As usual a variety of opinions followed from 'waste of time' to 'don't do it' to 'can't be done' to 'piece of cake.'

Somewhere in that process Patman 03SprCrw came around and said he thought it not only could be done but it would not be too difficult and offered to help me if I didn't mind making the trip from my home in Shreveport, LA to his in Austin, TX.

I'm happy to report today that thanks to the expertise of Patman03SprCrw my 06 Lariat now is equipped with power adjustable pedals --- and Harley pedals at that.

Patman took pics and has promised a technical write up for others who may want to do the same so I'll simply tell you it was a pretty basic bolt off, bolt on install or plug n play as we would say in the computer biz. All of the wiring was already in place in my truck. The entire job was done in about 3 hours mixed with a lot of chit-chat as Patman and I had not met before, and a short trip to AutoZone for a needed deep socket.

I had searched for many weeks and finally found a set of complete, like new pedal assemblies taken out of a 07 Harley F150. Paid $125 for them on ebay. In the meantime Patman had relocated from Austin to Waco to Rowlett (DFW) TX - getting closer to me with each move! Today we finally got the job done. So not only did I upgrade my equipment but they look great too.

Thanks again to Patman for a wonderful, if brief visit, and a great bit of mechanic's work!

I think it's awesome that people on this forum are like Patman, who not even knowing you except on here, reach out and help you and us just because we all share a love for our F150's and like to tinker around with repairs or mods. Congrats to you with your mod and Cheers to Patman and all others like him.

Pat is a great guy and is not afraid to help out a fellow F150 owner. If it wasn't for him there would be a few things that I wouldn't have been able to do with my truck. Can't wait to see the pics!

Pat's been busy lately! He did my rear axle seals just yesterday! I helped some. It was actually pretty easy with Quintin's how to write up on the computer screen.

We talked about your pedal install briefly yesterday. Looking forward to Pat's install thread of your pedals.

Yeah Stealth, I helped some too - I paid for the deep socket we needed and brought a folding chair so I could sit and talk and stay out of his way. He mentioned working on your truck the day before.

I can't say enough about what a pleasure it was to meet Patrick after months of emails. He's a great young man (I can say that cause i'm 56 and he's YOUNG!) and I see from his profile was an Eagle Scout. He's a real credit to this forum

Man I'm going to have to move to Texas. All the good guys that help each other out are down there. Can't wait to see the write up even if I don't need it.

Hey, you're pretty young yourself! It's all relative I guess.
