I'm running strong as can be with 29k on my 07' 5.4 lariat! Hows are these transmissions holding up? I'm debating whether to change the fluid at 30k or not.

Yea, he did have upwards of that, but that's not all... if I remember correctly that was in about 22 mo.!! (when he wrecked it) Remember, he posted a picture of the spark plugs he changed at, I think, 103k mi. and the looked new. No rust or carbon on the ground sleeves and they all came right out. From what little he did say (not much) I kinda gathered he may have been a game warden or at least something like that. He said he had a 3 or 4 state territory. He said he was 30 mi. off highway in pursuit when he rolled it. When did that guy even go to the bathroom???

69K on my 06 in 2 years, 11 months. Running great. Had a strange miss at 58K miles that dealer couldn't accurately diagnose or fix - blamed it on dirty fuel or spark plugs. Disapeared when I added a Gryphon - hoping to look for thrown codes - but none ever turned up. I am guessing the miss must have been a software issue in the factory computer? Other than that no problems whatsoever. Whatever, love it and hope to keep for at least another 3 years.

Kinda hard to explain.........something to do with the tensioners and oil??? Bad part about it, I was thinking mine was a rare case, but the 2 dealerships in my area both said that there was numerous cases with these trucks. With the '04's being the worse of course.

70k on my 04. No issues to speak of.

Still scared to death of the spark plugs though. I'm not liking all the tranny issues that are popping up lately too.

Perhaps you can have a minimum, like 150K miles. I'm guessing some have gone well over this on their work mules.
