NEED HELP with Grille Emblem!

Any pointers on how to remove the stock emblem from the front grille of a Lariat? I removed the two metal bolts that are attached to the back, but it seems like its not meant to come out. I dont want to break it taking it out. It's like latched in and I feel like I have to bend the plastic around to get it out? Has anyone done this before?

Yep, thats how it comes out. I suggest you put some heat on the tabs to soften the plastic so you dont break them, then with a little effort, it should come out.

Swipe your ol' ladys blow dryer and use the highest heat setting. All your trying to do is soften the plastic a little so the tabs don't break. Once you get a little heat into them, give it a whack from the backside on the pins and it should pop right off.

I fought with my emblem for about 20mins before I said screw it. I got some painters tape, and newspaper, lifted the emblem enough to get tape on the under side so it would have a crisp edge, and went to town with the paint for my grille insert. Best idea I have had yet! haha!
