Head lights

here in Canada our lights are on all day and night when driving. I'm just wondering if these after market lights loose some of their brightness by being on all the time. I put in a set of the Silverstars 3 years ago when I first got my truck.
Thanks Greg

Lights will probably lose some of there brightness over time. If your really worried about it just remove your Daytime Running Lights thats what I have done on my GMC and the GF did on her F150.

you could have got a HID kit for less than $75 and they are super bright!

I would not touch a $75 HID kit with a 10ft pole. If they work for you good. To the OP. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to replace them but if it aint broke don't fix it.

+1 (Nor any other "conversion kit, for that matter.)

Info: Thinking of converting to HID?

The DRL circuit can be disabled, but I believe what you're saying is that Canadian law requires them, correct?

Yes Andy I believe you are right as all Canadian Vehicles must have day time running lights,
Thanks Greg

I've been running without DRL's since I bought the truck in December. That was the first mod I did on my truck, then did the same for my brother's truck. I have never been harassed by a single cop. The only time you'll need to reconnect the DRL fuse, is if you have to take it in for an Out of Province inspection. They must be working then, but it's just a matter of plugging the fuse back in, so not a big deal. The fuse is behind the bumper just slightly lower than the driver side headlight. Just unplug it and the DRL's are gone. If you need them back, just plug it back in.

I figure this will help for us going hunting, later this year, too.
