My center console shifter lights went out the other night, and they havnt came back on. Anyone have any ideas as to why this happened? Or how to fix it?

 

The bulb may be dead. If you lift up your armrest and you pop up the cupholder housing around the shifter, you'll see a black wire running to the base of the chrome cover, right on the back left corner. That has the bulb (194/168) in it. You twist the base of the socket to the left and it pops right out.

I went to Recon and bought the 360 degree red LED to replace it:

Whoa the same thing happened to me yesterday. Now I dont have to make a thread.

 

Remember, you're on the driver's side of the shifter. The passenger side has the OD connection at the chrome cover's base.

 

Same thing happened to me. Only whoever changed the bulb before I had the truck didnt put the harness in completely and it fell out. It rested on the center console and burnt a huge hole in it right next to where my leg rests.

 

Anyone know what to do when the PD21NR display starts to rub off?
