want a lift need help

Okay all you truck ppl out there, i want to do a 2.5 body lift on my 07 F150 but should i put a leveling kit on it as well? I also need to know what the largest tires are that i can put on it when i finally do do the lift. And one more ?, where is a good place to buy the body lift kit? I dont have tons of cash to spen on one but i would like a good quality lift.

New to the scene so thanks for all your help!

Well first they dont make a 2.5" body lift. 3" only. And a leveing kit would look better than without one. 35" tires are what your gonna want. But you can fit 35's with just a leveling kit if you want.

Brand your going to look at is performance accessories.

A lot of people will tell you that a body lift is not worth it, that it will be just as much as buying a suspension lift and installing it yourself, so be prepared.

so should i get a spacer for the leveling kit or AAL? okay so a 3 inch but wont i need to change the a bars as well? I have a friend who owns a shop who does the install for suspension and body lifts so he is going to do it for me in a day.

It all depends on what yo want. I have just a 2.5" leveling kit on my truck and it site level, no need for an AAL for my application. What are the specs on your truck? 2wd, 4wd? What motor? (weight of the motor might effect how much the front needs to be brought up too to be level)

AAL raises the rear. Spacers raise the front.

And not sure what you mean by change the a bars.

What I would do is buy a 2 or 2.5" leveling kit to bring the front up...$70 shipped. Then buy a body lift they are between $350-$400 and then get it installed by your buddy.

What size tire do you want to run in the end? I have the 2" bilstein leveling kit and my 35" KM2s fit with no rubbing.

BDS also makes a body lift for your truck

if it was me and i decided on a BL, i would get a 2 1/2" leveling kit the 3" body lift and do 35" tires.

if your buddy owns a shop, can he get you a discount? maybe a 4" or 6" suspension lift might be more reasonable and IMO looks better unless the body lift is done correctly

Go outside and measure from the ground to the highest point on your wheel well. Do this for front and back. Whatever the difference is, is the size spacer you will need. My rear sat 2.5 higher than my front. So I went with a 2.5 AS and it now sits level.
I would also be careful about putting 35's with just a leveling kit. I have 325/65/18 Toyo's on now and I get some rub. I think it is more dependent on the truck and type of tire you put on. You might rub, you might not. I am now looking at putting a 4" Rancho Susp on to clear my tires.

if you do the 2.5 leveling kit + 3in body....you should be fine on clearing 35s(from what ive read and been told)...not sure if youd need a AAL or block in the rear or not.

I've got a 2.5" leveling kit with aftermarket rims and 33.5" tires
you can run that kind of setup or add a 3" body lift (Performance Accessories brand) and run 35" tires.....so basically you'll have lifted the front 5.5" and the rear 3" for $450-$500 and be able to run 35" just like if you had installed a $1500-$2000 suspension lift. But the suspension lift is still better if you had the money. You will notice loss of power and MPG even with a leveling kit and 33's...so probably even more so with adding a body lift and 35's. You may want to regear in the future if you go with 35's. And watch those brakes cause now it should eat them quicker and be harder to stop than stock setup.

Scrappy, Why do you say the suspension would be better? I am looking into one right now, so I am just curious what makes the suspension lift better.

stumbled on this post tonight, not sure if OP still checks it, but i have a 2wd with a 2.5 level up front and 3"blocks out back. my rear is a little stiff since the shocks are stretched a little, but it works. i'm running 285 r18s (that's about 32.5") and i think 35s would be pretty snug in the front. i have about 3" of space to the back of the wheelwell, so you could fit them with over an inch to spare, but they would prob rub on turns or terrain. the 4wds have a shock thats an inch or two longer up front and lets them clear 35s more easily. hope this helps

with just a leveling kit you can NOT run the 35's on a 2wd. with the leveling kit and body lift you can, but it is better to run a full suspension lift because the leveling kit will throw off your angles. plus it's not going to cost just 450-500 bucks, itll be a lot more. most body lift installs are more like 750-1000 because the installs take a while and are complicated. then lets say you spend $100 on the leveling kit plust that installation so close to a grand or so for all, pretty close to a suspension kit.
