Time To Sell
Just takes a lot of patience. If you are in a rush, you won't get anything close to what you want.
I'd recommend craigslist also. If you post a picture, I think it does cost a little. Autotrader is good also. Only think is, you'll get a ton of calls from people who want to sell it for you for a fee.

I was already pondering a possible bottom. I'd have a hard time selling it for anything less than my bottom price. That's why I was thinking of slapping it up there on ebayMotors to see if I could get above the possible bottom as the reserve. But then again, I personally would never buy a vehicle online like that. I don't know why other people would, but I guess they do. If I don't get my number, I'll probably end up keeping it until I can deal with the acceptance of getting less for it. Or maybe our love will be rekindled.
Every time I clean it up it looks so damn nice, I second guess my decision and I think about that summer of 2003 when I was looking at the book every single day while I went to the bathroom until my truck arrived.

Do some research in your area on cars.com and autotrader.com. I think you'll be surprised.
Your truck on a dealer's lot around here would be $15,500 easy.

So I'm actually planning to sell both and then get something else that's probably in the middle of the F-150 and Neon mileage and size-wise. But that's not happening until both are sold and the money is in the bank. Selling F-150 first, because I think that'll be harder to sell than the Neon for the price I want.
I just need that starting asking price. Anyone have a suggestion? Again, NADA Clean Retail Value is $16,700 and KBB Private Party is $16,405. And I put almost $2,000 of additional/new items on there, not taken into account in either of those prices; that probably doesn't matter much though. And the new tranny is warrantied for another year and a half and 60,000 more miles.
Wow, $15,900 is the exact number I had in my head this morning.

I have been test driving and dealin the last two days. I have two offers on the table its just up to me at this point. The truck is surely going, I don't tow anything or haul I just commute in the F150 and its gotta go. I got 19k on trade in both places. Right now be a good time to trade.
Might let her go this weekend

Well you guys have talked me out of ebay. So that's good. It's not really the route I wanted to go anyway.
Strikeswiftly,
If you have been offered $19K trade-in, yours must be newer and have much less mileage than mine. I guess I'm just never confident in my dealing abilities. I've just got to put it out there and get on with it. I'll put a For Sale sign on it, park it at the end of my driveway, post it on Craigslist and see what happens. If I get nothing, I'll put it on my mechanics lot for some more traffic.
There are a bunch of spoiled kids in my neighborhood. Maybe one of their dads will see it and buy it for them.

If you can hold out for another 6 months or so you should have better luck selling a 4x4 in the winter especially if there's a big storm forecasted. When I sold my van (1993 E350 Club Wagon, 60k, all seats, dent on driver's side) 2 years ago I just put it on Craigslist and sold it to the second person who looked at it for $500 more than I paid 6 months earlier. It seems like Craigslist is a decent place to sell (and buy) becuase it's local and less chance of wasted time and bs.
Sad to see you selling your truck.
My heart sinks every time I see it because I missed out on a blue one and ended up with silver. Good luck tho

As I sit here re-reading everything, what's wrong with listing it at the NADA Clean Retail Value? If that's the value, why would I short-change myself from the get-go? I guess it's a matter of enticing the buyer right off the bat.
I remember when trying to sell my house, the opening price was critical. They said it's better to open a little lower, rather than higher and start reducing. Then people will think there's something wrong with it.

D@mn Ford! Why did they have to make these trucks look so d@mn nice?! Last night I was in my garage with my daughters while they were playing with some toy trucks and I was sitting there gazing at the F-150, pondering the idea of not selling it because it looks so nice. I've got to stop admiring it and get it done. I'm listing it tonight.
