I Need Sum Help.........

Damn, first off i wanna say whats up to everybody on F150online!

Next i would like to say how bad i was just pissed off by this forum because i typed this big long post about problems im having with my truck, 04 F150 Screw, and when i hit post, i had to relogin, then the next page said that your post was unable to load because you had signed prior to that page loading

Ok let me try to make a long story short, i have around 80k miles on my truck and has been wonderful since i purchased until now. Few months ago, went to pass a dump truck, an truck started to buck then went into safe mode, but no CEL code. Later that night went on test drive an everything was fine until i went to give it sum gas, then bam had to limp home in safe mode, but i got CEL codes now. Code was misfire on #6, i almost freaked cause i could see an expensive head job at the dealer in my near future. After a lil research, i found that i could be a number of things. So while i had sum extra money, i changed fuel filter, air filter (which i bought a k&n dropin), oil an filter, coil on #6, ran 3 full tanks of 93 octain fuel and left battery diconected for about 2 hrs. Started up fine and for a little while ran like a champ, every now an then on the interstate i could make it sound like an uzie going off when passing. Now im haveing troubles again, now i have P0306 and P0430 codes. Misfire on #6 again plus now the code for a catalytic converter or O2 problem. Im stuck, i dont what direction to go in now. And to top everything off, excuse the sob story, ive been laid off since march 15th, i was in the oil field for the past 9 yrs. So after me, wife, an 3 youg kids living on what lil bit of unemployment that La. has, savings, and what small cash jobs i can find, doesnt leave much cash or change, if any for gas or muchless, a major repair. Thanks in advance for any help with this fix or atleast a point in the right direction. Chris

Also truck is basicly stock, tru dual straights that i purchesed truck w/ an newly added k&n drop in.

You posted kinda late at night. Tomorrow during the day/afternoon the techies will skim the board. That is when most of your questions will be answered.

Check your converters and see if any are getting too hot. May even turn red. That is an indication of stopping up.

Could be a stuck injector. If so that should be covered by the extended warranty Ford has put on them.

The injector issue is for 05 and some 06 only, he has an 04, so if it is his injectors, he's out of luck.

Well damn that just sucks! I guess i had my hopes way up that it would be a simple fix. if i remember correctly its not that hard to change an injector or am i wrong? Also if it was my cats i would still be out SOL since i have about 80,800 miles on my ride. What about cleaning the MAF, could that maybe help? I was also told to never put any kind of injector cleaner, fuel treatment, or ne thing in the gas because of the type of injectors we have. Anybody familiar with this?
