Amp Power Steps vs American Roll Cover

Hope everyone is doing well. I've been saving for a while so this is going to be a big purchase for me. Basically which would you guys recommend? For those that have both which one is your favorite mod? I'm tossed up because I have a lot of people getting in and out of my truck so the steps will help prevent wear on the leather seats. The cover, on the other hand, will give me somewhere to store and transport anything I want without it getting wet or being stolen. They would both be a good purchase, but I want to hear from those of you who have had them. Thanks!

My vote is for the cover. I have an extang cover and that thing is worth every penny.

If/when other manufacturers come out with their version of retractable steps and the Amp prices drop, I'm going to buy a set. But in the meantime, I suggest the bedcover for sure. I have the BakFlip G2 and wondered what took me so long to get it. It keeps my golf clubs and other gear safe and dry and well under the $1300 price tag of the Amps.

I appreciate the replies. Seems it's going to be pretty one-sided here. I'm looking into retractable designs right now because I like the low profile look.

This is very true and it's funny because I was thinking about this last night. Amp Research basically owns the market in this since they are the only ones with this product. They can charge whatever they want. Great point.

Hey man, got your PM...

If I had to do it all over again, I'd definitely get the roll back cover you posted. In fact, one of these days I'm going to replace my current Pace Edwards Jackrabbit with the Truck Covers USA one because I like their finish better, and I love the fact that you can stand on it.

There have been plenty of times when I was glad I had the cover, whether to keep gear dry in the rain, or to keep people from throwing empty beer cans in my bed while tailgating

The Amp Steps are way cool, but the functionality and security the bed cover provides makes it a "must have" in my book.

Thanks man! I'm glad you replied since you have both. I think I'm pretty much sold on the cover, but I'm still welcoming any other opinions. Time to do some price comparing.
