drivers window

It's acting weird? It usually takes me to push it 2-3 times to get it to go up, but today it wouldn't go up at all! it took 5-6 times. I've n oticed it's REALLY bad if i click it to go all the way down. Anyone else have this problem, if so what is it?

The window regulators are a common problem on these trucks. I've had to replace one of mine and I can tell my passenger side front one is about to go. Do a search on them.

I had a 2000 that did the same thing. It needed new switches or actuators (can't remember which now). At the dealer it cost me $425.

Mine does the same thing. Sometimes it will stop in mid stride going up also. Im waiting for it to go out any day now. Or could be months, years! Mines been doing it for a couple months now. I will fix it when it breaks until then ill live with it. It can get aggravating though.

I'm with you, I'm not going to replace it until it doesn't work at all.

I didn't replace until stopped all together. It never stopped mid-roll up. It started working sporatically and after a couple months that was it.

Mine did the same thing. It was doing it for about 2 months. Sometimes it would take
two to four pushes to get it to go down. I took it to the dealer and had the switch replaced under warranty. I remember a while ago someone posted that they had the same problem. The removed the switch and cleand off the contactors with a little sandpaper, and that fixed the problem.

Good Luck!

If under warranty (which it doesnt look like it is), go that route, OTHERWISE!!!!!!!!!!!:

Pop off the panel, unplug the switch. Remove switch box (black box) from the panel. Now what you need to do is get into that switch box. In order to do that, just pull off the rocker switches (srsly, it'll seem hard/you dont want to break it, but they just pull off).

Once the rocks (every last one of them) are off, open up that little black box. I used 4 knives to wedge my way in.

I'm betting we'll find your problem now. What has happened on my switch is that on the driver's side switch there are three pins that move the metal contact do-hicky (****, I'm not an EE). The middle pin wore down. instead of me buying a friggin $100+ new box, I just used the original spring and a small piece of hard wood. Just made a new pin and reassembled the whole mess.

no reason to buy a new assembly to replace a worn out pin.

edit:
I'll see if I cant find some pics to upload.
