*PICS*Headlights and Hellas Problem
I posted a few days ago because i couldnt figure out how to properly install the Hella 500's i bought. After i got replies i figured it out and all was working good for about a day and then this happend...

The Hellas work but for some reason my right headlight which is the one i tapped into with the splitter to work with my ambers are dim almost not even on along with my fog.

Is it the spliter i have on not tight enough? Do i need a T or Y wire connector instead or what ever its called? HOW CAN I FIX THIS?!?! Thanks in advance

How is this wired in? Did you use a relay or are the headlights directly powering the Hella's? I would highly suggest a relay and just use the headlights as a "trigger" power.
when you say the headlight that you tapped into you are referring to the install of the hella's right? the way i did it was just instead of tapping into the headlight wire just connect the headlight end of the wire to the battery instead. this let me turn on my lights whenever i want plus it might solve your problem of the headlight not getting enough power.
right but you should try connecting that i believe green wire that you spliced into the amber light wire directly to the positive on the battery instead. this will let you turn on the hellas at any time and it could solve your problem.
i think when you tapped the headlight wire you actually broke the wire in two and now power isn't making it to the bulb.

or ballasts in his case, but yep that seems like what happened.
the directions say to tap into the highbeam wire so the lights can be only on with the high beams i think, for legal purposes. i instead just ran that wire to the battery so i can have them on whenever i want.
Driving beam = with High beam (farther reaching beam)
Pencil beam = with High beam (long and narrow beam)
Fog beam = with Low beam (short and very wide beam)
Driving and Pencil (or sometimes called Spot) are meant for distance viewing with little foreground light. It allows your eyes to dilate which allows more light to enter your eyes and, thus, improve your distance vision.
Fog and Low beams have a lot of light up close to the vehicle. To compensate, the iris in your eye closes up and limits the amount of light entering your eye. This will make distances harder to see, but will make the illusion of having more light.
Legally, those are the assignments. If you have your driving lights on, with traffic coming at you, you are essentially flashing your high beams and could be asking for a ticket. I say "could" since a lot of cops don't really care, unless they haven't had their coffee.
Just my 2 cents.
