Opinions?

What does everyone think about making grill inserts out of wire mesh (like gutter guard wire mesh...)? My buddy mentioned it to me and I was wondering if anyone has done this or has thought about it or seen it on an f150.

It comes out nice as far as I've seen and is cheap as hell. I know at Lowes or Home Depot you can pick up this stuff for under 5 bucks. Sites like this http://www.customcargrills.com/products.asp?id=18 are charging like 50 bucks for a sheet of it when I can just go to lowes/home depot and get them.

Only problem i see is rust...but a simple clear coat on the silver (or in my case, painting it black and then clear coat) will stop any rust from showing.

Anyone do this/have an opinion or suggestion? I think this is a very cheap but nice addition. Sometimes home made mods are the best kind
