Wow, I was looking at it and thinking,,,"that's stuck?" Well, I think you are right, the stock tires got ya. I just got my first truck and wanna go "play" w/it, but don't know if the 15minutes of fun will be worth the two hours of clean up.

yup if i had decent tires it would have been no problem. I can't wait to get rid of these good years and get a good a/t or m/t

In my experience, most A/Ts won't help you in mud pretty much anywhere that street tires stuck you. Take the plunge and get some mud terrains. If you're really worried about street manners and noise, get the BFG KM2- amazing tires as far as road noise, balancing, and offroad performance. They're pricey, but worth it.

That said, if you want to get an all-terrain that can handle some mud, check out Interco's newest AT, the SS-M16. (Interco is the company that makes Super Swamper, in case you're not already aware.) It is a really aggressive all-terrain, but after talking to several people who have them, the street manners are great. They designed this tire to be sort of a mixture between an all-terrain and a mud terrain tire and they got it right on the money.

Thanks for the info!

I generally don't take my truck off road 'cause it's just not worth the hassle but i definitely do want a tire that isn't going to leave me stuck in situations like this.

my stock tires probably have another 15,000 miles left in them so after that i'll be replacing them.

I know the feeling. I bought mine to tow my trail rig, but it is 4x4, so I'll want to make sure I get the most out of it when I NEED it (the roads leading up to some of our trails look like the path in your pictures). Problem is, the tires on the truck only have about 8,000 miles, so I'll be waiting a long time before I can make the move to a better tire.

We just get A LOT of mud down here in Louisiana, so I figured I'd throw in my experiences with different tires. Even if you don't go into the mud often, it only takes one or two instances of getting stuck to wish you'd spent the extra on tires that'll get the job done when you need them... as you already know!

yea with different tires i wouldn't have had a problem but these goodyear at/s really suck. that and the pics really don't show how deep the mud was and the trail is a mud/sand mixture so i don't think that helped either.

my brother was a heavy equipment operator in the Marines and he's had a lot of experience in getting things unstuck lol but even he couldn't get it to budge.
