Sorry to hear about this. It's sad when people have to resort to stealin from honest working people but that's what has become of our world.

Also, make sure you're not missing any bills, receipts, registrations with important #'s on them !!

What you do is get one of the electrical air horns and install that inside the truck. I'd use a small 12v dry cell battery to power it and wire a relay to lock the horn to on when the alarm trips. It would be very easy to do and pretty cheap.

We have a detached garage, the only things in there are the stuff a thief would find interesting. My old Civic (with $4500 stereo equipment), my motorcycle, my tools, etc.

Actually, was talking with a manager at work, and he suggested wiring a 200W alarm speaker into the interior on a 5-10 second delay. He used to work as an alarm attendant and a friend of his did that. They guy that broke into his car had blood coming out of his ears when the police arrived.

Nope, car insurance and registration was all there and intact.

I work as an armed guard here in Edmonton. I am pretty well versed in the lethal force laws. I would have been more than happy to run out there yelling: Stop! Drop the weapon (screwdriver)! Do not make me shoot you! But alas, I didn't know it was happening.

I did a little sweep of the neighbourhood after work, last night. I saw, at least, 2 other F150's with the same damage along with a Caravan and a couple Neons. I wish I had had some sort of video recorder going at the top of our garage, but I am renting and have nothing of the sort.

On a side note: Nice to see some folks from the Edmonton area, here!

That's why everyone that has firearms needs to belong to the NRA! Luckily here in Mississippi we have the right to protect ourselves and our property. I am an insurance agent and I see this thing all the time. Unfortunately it is becoming more common in this poor economy.

Sure, click on these images to get a (much) bigger version:

Driver Side, you can see where they first started prying at the door:

Keep in mind, these are after we've pushed them back in a little. Just waiting to hear back from the dealership and insurance for cost to fix and when we can get an appointment in there.

I wish we had someone who was as forceful as the NRA. Heck, I wish we had enough people with ***** to stand up to our government. We have the NFA, but they explicitly say: WE ARE NOT THE NRA! Kind of disappointing. They'll help if you have a firearms charge laid against you, but not active enough, IMO, politically.

They punched my lock on the driver's side about a year and a half ago. I still have not fixed it because it's just going to happen again. i just don't leave anything valuable in my truck....I wish they would take it so I could get a F250 LOL

Oh! I gotcha. No, that wouldn't have done any good. I also like having my keypad, in case I lock my keys in the truck ... again. :o

crime around here has gotten bad lately too. i live in a pretty decent neighborhood where we dont have to worry about stuff like this that much. i came home last sunday from being in new braunfels to find my neighbor's brand new chevy sittin on landscaping bricks with no wheels. its amazing what thieves can do without anyone noticing. i have had a close eye on my truck for the last couple nights. i just joined the NRA, i cant wait till my sticker comes in. im putting it on the truck as soon as it gets here

About 15 years ago a buddy of mine got his toyota land crusier hit 3 times in 2 years. Since the yota's of the time would not allow the door to be unlocked from the inside handle, we wired the power lock button thru a relay that was controlled by the alarm so when someone broke in and closed the door behind them the doors would auto lock and with no power to the unlock buttons, they could not get back out.

Now that you have a captive audience, you can either wire in a siren or something else inside the car. We chose to dump a 20lb bottle of nitrous oxide inside the yota. Ever since the mid 80's, over the counter nitrous has been laced with sulphur dioxide to deter people from using it to get high (the side effect of laced nitous is a really nasty smell and the worst headache you have ever seen) So when some one broke into his car and he was locked in, the nitous would release, redering him unconscious. Then all we had to do was drag the body out and drive away.

I completely agree with you. For all who didn't know, Alberta is the Texas of Canada. We love oil, big trucks, and guns! So if you ever move to canada, you would probably feel right at home in Alberta lol! Thats also why the rest of the country hates us ha ha!!

Oh you gotta love hockey too!

Thats rough man! Nothing you can really do to prevent that. Hope those guys get theirs at some point!
