Man I always loved your truck, hope the new owner appreciates it as much as you did.

Good luck finding your wife a new ride

Truck is gone! Went to it's new owner tonight. I told him do not be surprised if I pop in every now and then to ensure he's taking good care of her.

It was sad to watch it drive away knowing it wasn't coming back, but then I remember I don't have to make a $520 truck payment on the 15th now and that makes me

I got rid of mine today as well. got $22,000 trade-in for it. You should have seen the salesmen drooling with dollar signs in their eyes.
Did you trade it in at Cutter Ford on Kam highway? We took a drive down there last night in the truck and the guy wanted me to trade it in. I asked him if he could offer me more than the $22k that it just sold for and he said probably not, but we could talk numbers and find out. I said unless you can guarantee me more than $22k then there's no need to talk any kind of deal. Although I would love to have that blue Harley Davidson F250 they have parked out front for $61k.

lucky...my payment was due the 10th, but I paid it on the 1st...sucks...but I guess at least that was a little less money on the Expy longterm

nope, mine is sitting on the lot at Honolulu Ford.
FYI...Honolulu Ford plays the same stupid games that Cutter Ford does...and somehow they have a good reputation to boot. I have not found a single "good" Dealership on this Island yet. There are just too many Military around, that they know they can screw our guys over...and the bastards have no problems with doing it either.

I suggest you fly to the Mainland and buy a vehicle there when you do buy.

Then just pay the $1,075 to ship your new vehicle out here. It will end up being cheaper...sad, but the mentality is so prevalent that we are soft targets.
Honolulu Ford has a pair of sweet F-250's...a Cabela's F-250 that is freekin' sweet...but at $55,000...a bit much. and the damn near $70,000 Blue HD F-250 with flames parked next to that

but yeah, they offered me $22,000 without even fighting over it. They didn't even test drive the truck.
I think Cutter f'd themselves over pretty good on your deal...but that is typical of Cutter Ford. I cannot stand that entire chain of Dealerships. They tried to screw me over pretty good last year, and alot of my sailors have had bad dealings with them.

You should have been easily able to get $22,000 for your truck pretty much anywhere on the Island. I've seen your truck around a handful of times. Your truck's paint is in better condition than mine, and we both know how much a lifted truck is preferred around here...I had a few rock chips in the front bumper, and mine wasn't even a Lariat

wxscpo, since you and your wife are thinking of an Accord you should take a look at a Fusion. One of my wifes friends just bought a Fusion and now wifey wants one, of course just after I paid the truck off she wants take out another vehicle loan. I did take a look at the Fusions and they are very fit and finished on the inside, and look pretty darn nice on the exterior.

You should be proud as h*** for that! I wish 1/10th, heck, 1/1,000,000th of the population in this country had the same character as yourself!

The wife mentioned the Fusion so I think that's another one that's on our short list. I am definitely going to do my homework on this next car rather than just rushing to buy something. I must say it was very nice to get rid of $19k worth of debt yesterday, plus the extra will pay off my last remaining credit card. I'm trying to convince the wife we should actually pay off the motorcycle now with the extra $520 a month and in a year buy something.

She wants to go look at a 2007 Cadillac CTS today. Here's the Craigslist ad;

Her dad has driven Cadillacs all his life and they seemed to be a pretty good car for him. We'll see.

Paying the bike off would probably be the better thing to do, maybe just buy a $3-4K beater car to get around on the rainy days. Then once the bike is paid off then buy the wife a new car.

As for the CTS, my bosses mom-in-law has a CTS and it is a very nice car. I don't know of any problems that she has had with it, but I think hers is either an 06 or 07 and it has less than 14K miles on it, so hers probably isn't a good indicator of if they are problem free. The price is pretty darn good on that one in the ad too.

That's exactly what I told her, but we went and looked at a 2005 convertible PT Cruiser with 45k miles for $7500 and she absolutely fell in love with it. We are taking the weekend however to think about it. We went and looked at it and the guy said it was his baby and I asked why he was selling and he said he needed the money really bad. I figure if I get her that I'll simply apply my truck payment to the used car loan and have that paid off in less than 2 years.

I recall seeing a few pictures of your truck when I joined this site a month or two ago and thought wow... what a beauty! Sorry to hear it's gone as well, but you shouldn't have a problem starting over again in a new rig anytime soon.

After just returning from the tourist traps of Waikiki Friday, I must say I didn't really notice any Fords running around the island of Oahu. Saw a few basic 09's near the bases, but nothing that really stuck out or lifted. Seemed like the locals preffered the Toyoters. Your truck must've drawn a ton of atten. in that part of the world.

The Fords are out here...but like you said, mostly only the Military has 'em

the truck of choice seems to be a toss-up between the Titan, Tundra or Taco...I see a ton of Titan's running around

I think you did extremely well, considering it's only a 2wd and especially after being wrecked.

hahaha that made me laugh out loud. sorry to hear the news for both you guys but you have to do what you have to do in these situations.

wxscpo, my dad just picked up an 09 edge SEL last week and loves it, the new sync system is amazing, that alone should be enough of a reason to buy a new ford right now. I have also seen a few 09 fusions at the ford dealer i work at, and man those new models are looking good. i suggest popping in and checking both vehicles out at your local dealership before you make any final decisions on a new ride.
