Additional Install Pics

Installed set of 5 handles on my '05 Lariat today & thought I'd post up a few additional photos. Some points I'd add for those who've not done this type of mod before or removed their door panels:

1) You don't need to worry about removing the speaker grills or speakers on the rear doors - don't even try or you'll break some of the pins (yes, I'm an idiot and tried this before realizing it wasn't needed ).

2) Remove the upper frame panel on the rear doors by popping it out w/a screw driver before removal of the main door panel as there's an additional 6mm screw.

3) It appears that my 2005 door doesn't have as large of openings to access the handle unit & rods - was a bit of a pain to get my hands in to pop out the rubber plugs (you can just use a flat head screw driver from the exterior by pushing in & prying them out instead) and to disconnect & reconnect the wiring harness for the driver door handle.

Below are some pics for more reference. As others said, once you do the first one the rest go pretty quick. It's well worth the effort and sweat as the finished look rocks!

I swapped the factory handles back on to F150 last week (to sell the LT handles) and it took me exactly 54min to do all for doors and the tailgate. Of course this was the 3rd set I had done so I knew a little about what I was doing.

The LT with a keyhole comes with both the keyhole and number pad on it, it is a combo deal. It might work but there probably is no wiring on the passenger side for the number pad to work.

I have a 2005 XLT flareside S/C. I do not have the keypad on the drivers door now. Anyone know if the connections are there to make the new keypad functional?

My 06 XLT didn't come with a keypad on the d/s door. But the harness for the keypad was in the driver side door. When I installed my LT handles I plugged the keypad in and it worked.
