HID's In KC Daylighters

This morning I woke up and felt productive. So I drove to houston, purchased a cheaper pair of HID's in the same color temp (6000k), and went to work. I Had to cut the hole a little bigger in the back of the KC housing. But I just filled it with silicone to make up the difference. It is just a H3 bulb so they were easy to find. I had silverstars in there before and it just wasnt cutting it. They were drowned out by my 55w HIDs heads/fogs and they didnt match. Im EXTREMEMLY happy with the outcome. Looks great and preforms even better.

Its just a crappy pic from my phone. But you get the jist.

glad that's working for you man

have you re-aimed your HID heads? it's a personal pet peeve of mine. alot of guys swap HID's into their heads, but they never aim 'em properly...and then I get blinded by them

got any photos of the area lit up infront of the truck?

Yeah and I have projectors. I aimed them down and never get flashed. I keep my fogs off because they are really bright, and if I turn on my KC's now with oncoming traffic I would make peoples retnas bleed.

And I will try to get some pics of it tomorrow with a better camera.

Haha that is what a buddy of mine said. Lol. They are the pencil spot beam KCs so they are designed for longrange. I have my fogs for wide, heads for middle, and the KCs for way the f down the road.

Looks cool but is it a functional upgrade? I'd have to see better photos especially the long range before and after photos. I have my doubts that it works better than the factory bulbs for reach. Course I'm using the 130w bulb in mine and I can see several miles down the road at night. Well beyond what I can actually make out.

IMO yes. I was using the 100w originally but they just didnt cut it with my Heads/fogs. I will try and get some pics, I dont have any pics for comparison though. I can now see 2 little white circles on the trees at night versus just being able to notice them lit up with the halogens.

Tonight I took a drive down dark county roads, through some pastures, and went to visit the river. The HID's produce amazing amounts of lights now. They fill in the blank spot perfectly. They shine WAY down the road. Driving down the backroads with reflectors I could see road/reflectors for miles. On county roads between fogs/heads/KC's there wasnt anything I couldnt see.
