Finally got my tails & third brake light TINTED!

Well I have been wanting to get them done since I bought the truck last november. Its been really crappy up here in michigan weather wise and finally had time and weather on my side to get them done. Only took me about an hour and a half to get everything done and thats taking them off the truck and painting them, clear coating them, wet sanding as well as buffing and polishing them out. I think they came out great. I know people are gonna ask how I did it and what did I use, so I used VHT niteshades, its what I have used in the past and its quality stuff. Sanded the tails with 400 grit jsut to rough up the surface and then wiped them down and started SLOWLY spraying layers of VHT on them. I took my time allowing a 5 min flash between coats until the desired shade and then let them dry. I used Duplicolor acrylic enamel for the clear, since it dries quick and holds up to the elements. After clear dries I wet sanded and buffed with my buffer. Came out how you see it below, no wax on it either...yet. Enoy the pics.

That's It. You just made me add another mod to my list. Now I have to do mine. Where can I get the VHT spray at? Do I have to order it?

I ordered mine through ebay, but went to Meijer today to grab some clear coat and sandpaper and was pissed cuz they must have just started carrying it. If you cant find it, just get it online.

I finally got mine done this past weekend but mine aren't as shiny as yours. 3 coats of clear, wet sanded and buffed. What am I doing wrong?

Hmmmm thats pretty much what I did. After you buffed it with buffing compound did you use polishing compound after? I have a pad for buffing and a pad for polishing. Also the difference could be the brand of clear coat.
