Flares and Steps Removed...Opinions Please

Removed them today to do some painting. But now that they're off, I'm really digging the look...the truck seems meaner somehow. oh yeah, removed the Bull Bar to do some cleaning on it as well

So what do y'all think?
Stay or Go?

and if they go, what can I do about the Fender holes?
Pics of her immediately after removal:

Pics after about 5 minutes of cleaning...still alot more to do though:

btw, removing the Flares is a major PITA....and my 5'4" wife cannot get into the truck now without a butt assist

I'm liking the non-flare look. Not the holes in fender part though...Pretty sure they are going back on

just fishing for ideas if someone has filled those holes with an easy DIY that still looks good

Paint the stock flares and it will look like it does with them removed.

IMO I like it without. My truck does not have them and my dads 05 Fx4 did, I think it looks cleaner without. But the holes are going to be a PITA to fill. I would do what freeky said and paint to match, I think this would be the next best option without having to fill the holes.

AS for the running boards I say ditch them too....again just cleaner looking. And as far as your wife needing a "butt assist" every time I don't see a problem there

Well I like it better with the steps off, but I have always liked the flares so I would say put them back on.

the holes are a piece of cake, just weld all them shut, gonna need to repaint both box sides and fenders though. that is really the only way to do it, or just get ptm flares. just make sure the shop that does them ain't stupid and warps the panels, metal is getting quite thin these days.

No reason you can't paint your flares the body color, is there? My flares are body color and I would rather have the flares than not. The steps are more of a convenience issue and my wife is an 1" shorter than yours.... and a lot older. But I agree it looks better without the steps.

I am with the others, since there is no good way to fill the holes in the fenders other than welding them shut and then repainting the panels, either paint you flares or get PTM flares. I would also leave the bullbar off. I know what you mean about a short wife and the steps, I wanted to take mine off but she shot me down with that.

I wouldn't of never put the fender flares on. I say scrap the fender flares and re-install the running boards
