Ride Rites, Block or AAL

Just recently installed an AS 2" front spacer and I love the new look of the truck. My only concern is that when I hook up the camper there is going to be some squatting causing the rear end to be lower than the front. Did some reading and it looks like the Ride Rites are the way to go. Do you agree?

Second question. I already have an onboard compressor and tanks for a train horn so could I tie the bags into the same set up? How do you monitor pressure with this system?

I JUST installed the Firestone Ride Rite last weekend and LOVE it. After installing my AS 2" spacer, I noticed the front sat 1/2" higher than the rear. The Ride Rites cured this and now allow me to compensate for ANY load!

AAL has zero adjustment.

How difficult was the install?

id go with ride rites, the adjustment would be nice, the aal is a little stiff sometimes

Plus, in those rare circumstances where one side may lean more than the other, you can adjust each side accordingly. My truck actually took a few more PSI for the left side vs. the right to get each side at 41.5" high.

agree with the other guys...you are already 1/2 way there with the compressor. just be careful with those airbags

with an AAL, you get a visual indication of the amount of weight you are putting in the truck

with the airbags, they pretty much let you compensate for most anything weight wise...which can let you seriously overload the truck without even noticeing it.

@ RMS
could you post up some pics of your setup? I've never seen 'em installed

The install is VERY easy. No drilling. All the parts come with the kit and everything fits perfect!

I would have to say the "hardest" part was figuring out how I wanted to route the lines....

I plan on taking pics once the weather lets up. It's been rainy. I don't want to pull it out (the truck) just for a few pics.

As soon as the rain stops, I'll give it a good wash and then park it in the same place where I snapped pics of it after I installed the 2" AS level kit, so you can see the diff.

I would suggest the Ride Rites also. I got mine over 2 yrs ago and really like them. I run mine with 15-20psi which nets about 3/4" of rear "lift", so I now have rake again. I would but them again in a heart beat.

When I was looking Summit Racing had descent prices. You could also try amazon.com and of course ebay.

I ended up buying mine off of another member here who had just installed them on his truck, and then decided to trade it in. I am sure others will chime in with where they found good prices.

Do they make a kit that automatically levels it self to any load using a compressor and air tank? Im getting air horns soon and i kind of wanna work together with a load leveling airbag kit along with the airhorns. Thanks!

+1 on the air springs and summit. I got mine a few weeks ago from summit and was very happy with the process and quick shipping time. They were a breeze to install and make my BFG's look great with the AS 2.5''
