im thinking that the reason why the log was not set back further was because of the fender wells on the trailer... either way, the drive was an idiot for attempting this manuver...

nope, definitely had a receiver on the truck, the bumper would have just bent down when the brackets failed.

regardless, that tree was out of 1/2 ton and 3/4 range, maybe within 1 ton range with a 5th wheel

Look at the pictures of the loader's tires...

That thing didn't even like the load.

A good old Peterbilt with a flat trailer would've solved the problem.

Look at the chains on the trailer in the last pic. It appears that most of the weight has been lifted back off of the trailer and the truck is still messed up. Was a nice looking truck too. haha
