Which head lights?

I am thinking of doing something with the head lights of my truck, but I am not sure what I should do. I am trying to decide if I should buy another set of OEM's and then paint them black, buy a set of totally clear lights off ebay (then seal the up fully), or just leave the stockers in and be call it good.

The only thing that is keeping me from doing the PTM lights is that I am not sure how I like the looks with the fogs in the bumper being "chrome", that is the reason that I am thinking of buying a clear set of ebay. That way I would get rid of the orange reflector and being all clear would set it apart from others.

So what do you guys think?

Here are a pics of my truck now, the only thing that has changed is that my badges are now black with dsg inlays.

If you paint the headlights, I would also paint the foglights. But either way would look spectacular IMO. I would go clear if it was my truck, but that's just me.

FX2 or Harley headlights would look sweet, as well as PTM. I painted my fogs, looks OK. Hard to keep from peeling the chrome off the fogs.

I just painted my stock headlights. It was alot of work, but well worth it. You can also paint your fogs. They would look really good on the black truck.

When you paint them you don't paint the reflective surfaces, you CAREFULLY tape the reflective areas off. The crappy chrome likes to come off with tape. I used a lot of trimmed to fit paper and some not so sticky painter's tape.

Most of us on here have the black lights and I like the look, but I have seen a couple of trucks on here with the clear, but they are all. I think with the DSG trim I would paint them black.

Yeah, I don't think that's an issue. No one ever has said anything about loss of light output with fogs.

i say leave the fogs and go with the DSG fx2 headlights to mix up the color a bit in the front of your truck, they will look better with the fogs being all chrome too IMHO.

Paint those headlights black. The orange reflector will get darker and less noticable. Leave the fogs. The headlight will still be chrome so it would look alright.

After doing a search I found your thread, and also DarrenWS6's and one other. I like the look, but I think that I would like to find another set of fogs. So that way if I do screw up the first set then I have a backup set.

Keep the opinions coming guys!
