Thinking about selling

I was washing my truck today and started thinking about how little I actually drive my truck anymore and how it's really getting to be more hassle then what it's worth. I would also really like to get the wife a really nice car to drive so I thought about posting it up for sale. Was wondering what you guys think I should ask for if I do try to sell? The truck is in excellent condition other than having the accident a year ago, but you definitely cannot tell it. KBB has private party sale right around $20k so I was thinking of listing for $25 OBO. If I can get $24k for it I will be very happy and take the money and run, but I will absolutely go no lower than $22k. Do you think this is fair or am I out of my mind? Thanks

well, honestly i think it takes the right person to get the price for your truck that you want. now i probably do the same thing all guys do when they walk up to a decked out truck....i can buy the lift for XXXX, the rims XXXX and so on and so forth. i am selling my truck for for what i owe on it, but i am just signing it over. i got 2 buyers willing to sign for it next week. so i am selling it for 25grand. so can you get 22k, just gotta advertise and you'll find out. i do know that truck values went up alot in the last 6 months. i know for a fact that my KBB value went up over 3grand since i wanted to trade it in on my birthday. i love my truck and get compliments on it all the time, but i'm at the age where i just don't give a crap anymore. and i never not had a car payment since highschool, it sure is getting old. i remember a time when i had it all, fast sled, nice wheelers, nice truck. i wanna be that guy again, nice but not new. that's why i'm selling and a house in the horizion. i will just buy a nice cannondale bike and pedal my happy *** around, lol

good luck

If you get $22,000 for your truck, I am so selling mine also.

I'm about to get stationed on another Sub and my truck will be sitting for long periods of time...again

You've got a very nice truck, and you see alot of lifted trucks out here...so there is very likely a good market for it.

Yeah I know that to get my asking price the buyer has to be willing to pay, I'm just hoping to get payoff and a little that I can use for a down payment to get the wife something. I have my motorcycle that I ride everyday now and I will be keeping her old Honda as my rainy day transportation. Payoff is around $19k right now so hoping to get a couple grand for the almost $13k in mods on it. Heck the wheels and tires are less than a year old and cost $3200 themselves. I'm just at the point where she just sits for days/weeks and the only time I drive it is when the weather is crappy and she just gets all dirty and sits and I'm just not motivated enough anymore to put 8 hours detailing her.

Not being rude at all but I highly doubt you will get anyone to look at it for over $17 or 18k. I know that might seem awful to think that, but there are such good deals everywhere. It should be no shocker to find out mods do not increase the value of a truck, sometimes some see it and will pass due to possible abuse or mis-use, etc. Is it 2wd? Doesn't quite look 4wd for some reason. What lift?

scab's are leftover over because screws are all the rage. most popular vehicle you can buy and it's not much more than a scab. i personally hate scab trucks, ever since i got my screw. hauls 4 adults with ease, tow's whatever ya (well what i got) it's a suburban with no top. you also didn't get great interest to have a price that low either. alot of people want a beautiful truck that is done without the hassles, but don't wanna buy a 50k conversion truck.

Trust me I didn't take it as rudeness, I posted asking opinions and welcome them all. Yeah $17 or $18 would be awful to think about and no way I would let anyone have it for that much, I'm definitely not pressured to sell. If I get my asking price I'll sell, if I don't I won't. Yeah I know mods typically do not increase value, but with $3200 in wheels and tires only about 10 months old and less than 3k miles on them, that's really about the only mod I have factored into my lowest selling price. Yeah it is only 2WD and I know that will probably be a issue with my asking price as well, but like I said if I get my askign price she sells, if not then she won't.

Cool, glad you understand what I was saying. A buddy of mine just got rid of his '06 Screw 6.5' 4wd XLT with 6" suspension lift and 3" BL on fairly new 40" Pro Comp Xtreme ATs on simple MT wheels, with edge programmer, tool box, train horns, push bar, etc. for $20k. I think it had about 40k miles on it,

It really is all about how much someone will pay for it. I bought my 08 FX2 new for $12K off in Q4 last year. MSRP $32.5K, paid $20.5K. I know they're already taking $12K off the 09s right now. Good luck gents.

mine is practically sold, you gotta factor in the interest unless your paying cash. the fella who's buying mine is taking over the payments, a good deal IMO. so if he would finance it thru a bank at say 6-7% APR his payment would be more and for a year long, just gotta crunch the numbers.

Where are they taking that kind of money off of the 09's? I was shopping around the other day and the most they would work with was 5k max.

who are you talking too? i can strip it and trade it in stock for 20 grand. sell the parts, easily score another 4500 bucks, so eitherway i get what i want for it. you paid 25grand for a truck that no one else wanted, otherwise it wouldn't have been there. not many guys buy a screw with a 4.6, nor would i buy a truck without fog lights. it's all about finding the right buyer, to each his own

it's like he's buying the truck for 22 thousand if you factor in the interest from the bank
