Is this a safe bet?

http://cgi.ebay.com/KENWOOD-DNX8120-...3%3A1|294%3A50

About to pull the trigger on this....I think. Any reason why I shouldnt? Great deal on this unit that has been refurbished with the new software and updates.

Anybody have a problem with buying a HU on ebay?

yesterday i would have told you to check out pioneers line up to navigations, but today my avic d3 broke. no navigation any more, and music screws up occasionally now, and sometimes the screen will not get off the start up screen or it will just stay all black.

After reading so much about the problems with the Pioneer units, I think I am going to avoid them altogether. This Kenwood has had some issues, but the new software is supposed to correct them.

I like this Kenwood unit because it has built in bluetooth and uses Garmin navigation. I dont need the navigation, but this seems like a good deal on this unit.

Search around a bit. Try Amazon.com

I bet you can find it cheaper than that ebay listing has it for.

I wouldn't buy that one necessarily. At least do alot more shopping around first.

Usually when Sellers have a "Buy It Now" auction, you aren't saving any money. And lately eBay has been letting Retail stores sell stuff pretending it's an auction.

Wouldn't be surprised if you can't find the HU for at least $50 cheaper (including shipping)

ya, mine froze occasionally, usually nothing to bad just froze the ipod up and would take about 10 seconds to catch up and switch songs and then today and just decided to be a POS.

you can get bluetooth for the pioneers. if i take mine out, ill be selling my bluetooth for anyone interested.

if that dealer is selling for that price you can always email them later and offer them the same deal. dont be in a rush and regret it later. i have regretted a few decisions on my truck

pylda I have a refurbed kenwood, the 7120. When I was shopping for mine, there were a ton of them on ebay but kenwood does not honor the warr on any units sold thru ebay, new or refurbed. Then crutchfield got a few refurbed 7120's in and they were about 50 bucks higher than the ebay units, and kenwood will honor the warr on units sold thru crutchfield.

I have a Pioneer Avic D3 and absolutely no issues (knock on wood). I also bought it off of eBay and had zero issues with the purchase.

I had a Kenwood similar to that one, paid like 640 for it bundled with Sirius through Ebay. If your going to get it through ebay make sure its new. Do not get anything refurb though there, not worth the chance.

If you want to save money get a refurb unit from onlinecarstereo.com or whoever has a good name extended warranty for a few bucks more. That's what I did and I haven't needed to use the warranty and it's been about 2 years now. Saved me like $800 doing that on my headunit.
