OK, after the warranty is said and done and the Motorcraft "synthetic blend" is not longer necessary, what do you use for oil?

1. Go to a quality brand, full synthetic?

2. Stay with a synthetic blend but use any brand that you trust?

3. Go with dino oil only?

4. Stick with Motorcraft?

Opinoins needed.

If you have been having good results with the MotorCraft Syn blend you midas well stick with it! Personally I have been using Mobil-1 since the 1st oil change, & at 35,000 miles my 5.4 3v runs quiet & very smooth!.......Just make sure whatever you do, stick with the MotorCraft FL-820-S Filter, it is engineered for the Mod V-8, & really is the best filter for these motors!

I switched to Mobil1 when I bought the truck at 28K miles and have had no issues since. Just turned 53K and oil still looks great at every change. I agree with the above on the filter, stick with Motorcraft. Both my 05' and my 92' are running Mobil1 with Motorcraft filters.

I think its brand name preference IMO. I switched to Castrol Synthetic around 30K and started running royal purple synthetic at 45K.

MotorCraft Filter and Mobil 1 Full synthetic is the best combo I have used. Including my turbo mustang.

I only run AMsoil, and Royal Purple...

But run whatever you feel comfortable with. You can run motorcraft the life of the truck and probably not notice a difference.
At 100K miles if you pulled the motor apart, there might be some signs (meaning Vs running higher quality syns), but for the most part you would be good to go.

But choose the best filters you can get.

You could probably live off the food on the shelves there as well, but would you want to?

How does Wal-Mart have any effect on the quality of MC oil?
