Opinions needed: what type oil after 36,000 miles?
seriously, MC oil is all the same, MC was what these engines were designed to use, why not use it??
what is nice about walmart over other stores is they sell the gallon jugs which save about 30 cents or so per quart

Well the Super WalMart seems to be about the best grocery store around here, so I guess the answer to your rather strange question would seem to be "yes". Of course I don't feel the need for arugula at the Whole Foods Store either.
If the MC is good for 36,000, why would it not be good for another 36,000? I have 83,500 on mine and the MC is working great. No leaks, does not burn oil, runs great.

There is a lot of hype about Mobil 1 and such. It is not a miracle oil. Neither is RP or Amsoil.
For all these stories of 200+K miles and people attributing it to Mobile1, RP, etc
1997 Ford Taurus SHO. Ran motorcraft oil/filter 90% of the time. Engine is still going at over 250K miles
1991 Ford Taurus SHO. Runs Castrol GTX, auto-x a lot. Over 300K miles
1992 Ford Taurus SHO. Runs whatever oil is on the shelf. Ran over 200K miles
1990 Ford Taurus SHO. Runs whatever is on the shelf. Over 200K miles
1992 Chevy Blazer S10. Ran whatever was cheapest at autozone as it was a beater truck. At 275K miles, I got t-boned. Engine still ran.
Point is, unless you are driving a race car (NASCAR, Rally car, etc), there is no need to over think oil. Check/change it regularly with a decent oil and proper weight and you'll be fine.

Millions of people buy their food and oil at Walmart everyday including me.
What's on/in my truck right now, a Fram tough guard PH-2 and some exxon superflo 5w-30

I am still in my warranty and I use full synthetic. Started with Royal Purple then went with syn blend MC and now I am on Amsoil. Any oil you want to run will be fine just change it at the appropriate interval.
