Unhappy Pricing Help

Hate to say it...but I'm kinda getting bored with my truck. It's made it almost 3 yrs and had a good run. But as usual, I'm becoming less interested in it. Lately I've been thinking about a 2007+ Mustang GT...or the 2003 Cobra 2 houses down.

Luckily the economy is in the hole, so I can't easily get rid of it (sarcasm)

Anyhoo, between Nada, Kelly Blue Book, and Edmunds I have been getting an average of about $22,000 to $23,000 for the truck retail, and about $17,000 to $19,500 for trade-in.

I know those prices are somewhat inflated. I'm wanting to sell it Private Party to make the most money. What do y'all think I could get for my truck?

My mods include:
RoushCharger
2.5" Leveling Kit
Magnaflow Dual Exhaust
Bull Bar
Recon Clearance Lights
Black Headlights
Boost, A/F, Tranny Temp Gauges
Vent Shades
From the factory, the truck is a FX4 Luxury package. 5.4 3v motor, 3.73 LS axle, All Leather, Center Console, Dual Power Seats, Heated Seats, Power/Heat Mirrors, Sliding Rear Window, Moonroof, Power Pedals, CC/Radio Steering Wheel, 18" FX4 rims

about the only options I'm missing is the Lariat Trip Computer and the backup sensors.

25,800 miles, interior is in immaculate condition, tires are at about 1/2 the tread life, paint isn't excellent, but very good condition (pitted PTM front bumper)...no dents/scratches at all otherwise

I've done oil changes at every 3,000 miles with the Motorcraft stuff

thanks guys. I'm only gonna do it if I can sell it and pocket a little cash. Otherwise, keep ahold of her. But I'd like a rough estimate of what might be fair pricing. Throw a few lines out there and see what I can reel in.

I'm in a similar boat, I will be moving from the Northwest to SOCAL and I'm really itching for a C6 Vette. But the resell is holding me back a bit... Who knows how long that will last.

What I can say though is, I have NEVER not made a profit off a vehicle sale. It's all about appealing to the right market, and biding your time. Autotrader is a wonderful thing, so is throwing up a couple good flyers on base
It also just takes time with Auto Trader... Throw it on there for the option to run until it sells, and see what you get.

I was just offered 18,200 for mine with 24k on it. And it is just a supercab XLT.

I think the you should be able to pull 20.5k to 22k on the high end. Put it up and Craigslist and see what happens. I had mine up there for a week and have at least 20 phones calls by now.

I could have sold it yesterday but I have decided that I am going to keep it. I am payment free and I really in enjoy not seeing that bill in the mail every month.

BTW, If you take your SC off and feel like donating it, I'll take it

The mods hurt the resale value more than anything.

I'd guess maybe $18-20K tops from a private buyer, and you'd totally get killed on trade in at a dealer.

Unfortunately, mods don't increase resale value. That's why I always keep my stock parts. Put the truck back to stock and sell your mods online.

You're getting bored with your truck after you put a supercharger on? You can send it to me if you want

Lift it or add an intercooler, hell there are thousands of mods to take away your boredom... I fortunately have not gotten bored with my truck yet, then again I'm modding something weekly... I like to think & tell myself I'm done so my wallet can make it till the next paycheck

I think you will miss the truck once its gone. I have a friend with a modded out 02 GT and a friend with a BA cobra with a twin turbo navigator motor in it, both got tired of the cars and bought trucks. They would never sell their cars though, maybe look for a cheap stang that could be a project car? Just an idea...

I know the mods are pretty much worthless for $$$ at a Dealership. That is why I will either sell it Privately or just keep it. I am not giving a Stealership $5-6,000 of pure profit and let them rip me off with a $16,000 trade-in.

thanks though. Supercharger goes with the truck. I ain't removing it...even though I still have all the OEM stuff

I'm just hesitant to drop another $4,000+ for the lift and tires/rims

did that before on a Bronco and it only lasted about 1 yr before got tired of it.
