If my plug wouldn't have broke it would have taken me about 3 hour's from start to finish to get all mine replaced. Which is still too long. Yea this is why I like doing my own maintenance and repair's the reward feel's great once the job is completed.

Way to go. Your way is the simplest I've read yet. How far were you able to recess the porcelain and how many turns of the threaded rod could you get into the sleeve?


AAAAAAAND how did the race turn out?
All I done was click the banana a bunch of time's and they went to dancing. Once I got the porcelain moved into the tip of the sleeve it left about a 1/4 inch of room at the top to get a threader into the hole. I just tightened the threader until it got tight. I figure at least four thread's got cut into the sleeve. I'm still waiting for my cousin to call about the race. He's the one that got it set up. He and I are gonna both each race the guy in the dodge. My cousin has an 06 crewcab 2wd Chevy with a programmer,S&B intake,throttle body spacer and true dualed straight's. I have raced my cousin a couple time's before when I had my hypertech programmer set on 87 octane gas and we were side by side the whole time. We're gonna race again cause now that I got my edge and running 93 octane gas I think I can pull away from him pretty good. I'll also be racing with my stock tire's installed and not my 33's and 18 inch rim's. I'm gonna try and get a vid posted for ya'll to watch.

Same here. I figure the way you felt when you finally got that broken shield out is the same way I felt when I got the last plug out unbroken.

Thinking about the project was far worse then actually doing it, especially after getting the first couple out when I started to learn what was normal and what wasn't.

Call me a wuss, but after reading threads like this plugs will be one project I'll gladly leave to the dealer when it comes time for them on my truck! Plus, according to my calculations I won't need to mess with them until the year 2195, and I'll be 231 years old, so maybe it will be somewhat of a moot point by then......

It felt like I just blew a huge load. All I wanted to do was get in my truck and drive. It felt like I haven't driven it in a year.

Look's like i'll be able to tackle this job again here soon. My neighbor has an 06 Screw with 26,000 mile's and i'm trying to convince him to change them asap! I have alot of confidence built up now that i'm willing to tackle this job again. I'll be pulling my plug's every 10,000-20,000 mile's to add more antiseize to the plug's. I know it may sound like overkill but I plan to keep this truck till death do us part and I don't wanna have to deal with another broken plug.

By then the plugs will be powder, they can be removed with a Shop Vac.

Yea these plug's definately need antiseize applied to them.

Just an update about the race. I finally talked to my cousin and supposedly the guy with the Dodge backed out cause he claim's something is wrong with his truck. He didn't say exactly what but that was his excuse. Maybe some other time we can line em up.
