Changing my spark plug's today!
I decided that I better take the plunge and get these thing's replaced since my truck is at 89,300 mile's. So far I have gotten all of them broke loose about an 1/8th of a turn and i'm gonna let them soak for about an hour and try to slowly work them out. Before starting I said my prayer's and went to work. It feel's like i've strained up a hemmroid just getting them to break loose. These thing's feel like they were tightened down with an impact wrench. Two of them have me scared though cause they didn't feel as tight as the other's and they didn't make a screaching noise either. I've never been so nervous in my life trying to change a set of sparkplug's. I'll keep ya'll updated and pray that all of them come out without any breakage's.

Thanks Bluejay! I also realized how stupid the local autopart's guy's are. It took me 30 minute's to explain to the part's guy that Ford offered the new body style and heritage model's in 2004.

Just take your time. I would loosen one at a time very slowly with a 3/8" ratchet(keeping vertical on the plug) until I started getting resistance, then I would back it off a little bit then loosen more. It worked great for me and I had 99k on my original plugs. One of mine did scare me though. I broke it loose and it there was no resistance at all. It ended up being loose enough to turn the extension with my fingers, but it came out complete.

Well they have been soaking for about almost an hour now. I guess i'll go out their and try my luck at getting one removed. I'll keep ya'll updated. Say a prayer for me please!:thumbsup:

Just remember per TSB, if the plug gets resistance while loosening, turn the opposite way actually tightening, then proceed to loosen again very slowly........use that procedure on all plugs that appear to be problematic........Take your time, add more Ford Carb cleaner if you feel necessary!.......Good luck & God Bless!........We will pray for your success!...

Well look's like I'm ****ed! The first three on the driver's side came out fine but the very back one broke. The sleave and ceramic is stuck in the head!:mad: I haven't touched the passenger side yet. The three that came out didn't even have any soot on them just a little bit of rust but not alot. What do I do now? This pisses me off!

Take it to the dealer, or make an extraction tool.

Get some extraction tools ASAP!.......or bend over at the dealer!........Sorry that it happened to you!.....

Here build your own and this one even allows you to make an attachment to take out the porcelain.
