Power drop going around turns?

My 08 seems to have a slight power drop when I go around a turn while under throttle. Not on the highways but city driving you can feel it. Anyone else feeling this?

If the trans is shifting you are probably feeling the torque management which reduces the engine output during shifts.

No, I don't think so. i'll try it this weekend and see for sure. Going in the shop monday anyway for that darn plastic grill behind the wipers. Will not snap together. Seems a lot of people have the same problem with the 08s.

It's probably something to do with the tank. What happens is the fuel sloshes to one side and starves the fuel pump. You might want to drop your tank and make sure your inlet line at the bottom of your tank hasn't popped loose on you.

I notice this when I'm getting close to empty. It feels like someone just took my foot off the gas.

IT ONLY HAS 316 MILES ON IT! And it is filled up. That is not the problem.

I have an 08 but haver never noticed that problem you are having. I read this yesterday and i paid close attention today to my truck especially since i was hauling a small tractor on a double axle trailer went around a fairly sharp curve going 55 and it never let up or changed gears so I'm not much help

you might have to be a little more specific because most people have to slow down to go around a turn in town, which is a loss in power due to applying the brakes.

Exactly what I was thinking

How sharp are these turns? Is it a slight curve on the freeway, or a right hand turn? Is it only at a certain speed? Do you have 4x4 engaged?

Well, then perhaps it is something with the power steering. If you turn the steering wheel at idle, do the RPM's dip considerably?

just turn going around corner say from one street to another, no towing, no 4x4 engaged, slow down slightly then press on the gas, bam, there is the lag.

Thank Ford for the lag in throttle response and tranny shifting (lack of).

so its not a loss of power, but a lag in throttle????

I highly recommend you get a tuner. I have the Edge in my 2004. It will do wonders with removing lag and fixing shift points.

my 07 seems like it does this while accelerating normally around a corner, I'll have to pay more attention but I was pretty sure it was just in between gears??

Absolutely agree that it is the (lack of) throttle response. I also highly recommend getting a tuner. I have a Troyer tuner and it makes a huge difference for that exact problem. It will also help when you are going 35-45 mph and need to quickly get to highway speeds...mine use to always gear hunt for 3 seconds or so before getting moving and that has gone away now.
