tailgate light bar??

Are the light bars on the tailgate worth it because I have seen some on trucks and they look real nice. If anyone has one or has suggestions feel free. Pics are welcome.
Thanks.

I love mine, others hate them.. I have had the recon line of fire for 2.5 years now with zero problems. I should have plenty of pics in any of the galleries in my sig.

If it keeps some idiot "texting" from plowing into my ****, I'm all for it!

Anyone in the snow belt have one? Curious how they interact with a little snow!

Thanks!

I like the one's that are used just for the brake light's. For some reason the fire and ice one's look weird when their lit up in reverse.

I have had a Plasmaglow Fire and Ice one for 18 months and love it. It has helped out with idiots not paying attention at night!

I had the same one on my old truck for 3 years. Loved it.

Best picture I have of it right now.

I'm in Cleveland area and I have one, still works after 2 winters, just make sure if you have a lot of snow buildup on the back bumper to clean it off or the snow will block out the line of fire.

BTW they have a new version that is a fire and ice style and is sequential.

They were cool when they came out. Now, IMO, they are a little overplayed. Most cheap ones seem to malfunction relatively soon. I do think sometimes they look alright, but usually the ones I see are the el-cheapos that have some LEDs out...Even recently I saw a regular bed with a step-side bed light on it, about 6" missing on both sides.

I had to make a little cut out in mine to accomadate for the prong in the tailgate, but other than that yes it just mounts under it.

I have yet to see a fire and ice bar that works right, and ill agree on the el cheapos they suck... The recon line of fire is a pretty safe bet I have not heard much of the plasma glow stuff

I have the white lighting. It is like the fire and ice. Its made by recon. I love it. I have LED reverse bulbs so it matches them.

i have a plasmaglow fire and ice..... ive had it for a little over a year now, and i live in a very wet environment.... with ZERO problems... my reverse works perfect too.

as stated above by fx4life, the tailgate assist bar will interfere with the LED strip... BUT, i wouldnt cut the LED bar allowing water to get inside...... instead, if you remove the tailgate (which you have to do anyhow to install the LED bar, you can unscrew the assist bar from the tailgate, and then its no longer an issue.
