Tray on top of dash

What is this for? Do they make a pod to go up there. Looking at getting a fiberglass pod made to mount my gryphon in. Has anyone else done this mod if so what kind of pod did you use.

Its for general use. There is a rough surface rubber mat in it to keep objects from moving around. Pens, papers, cards, mail, change, whatever. Its a universal tray.

Ford did have a navi unit that was made for the tray, otherwise it is to hold crap that will reflect light and mess with your driving, lol.

Not my first choice for a navi unit, but that is all that I can think of that will easily fit there.

I have seen the navigation pod that goes in there, it's pretty sweet. I almost pulled the trigger on one, but my phone has GPS and really don't NEED another GPS.

I use it for my iPod, with my silicone case, it doesn't slide around much unless I'm going nuts offroad. I thought about the Edge/Gryphon pod idea as well. I don't have the necessary glassing skills to do such a thing, but I would think you could take the issued Edge pod and cut the front off and glass it to fit into the tray. There are some talented people out there, some even on this board as I've seen some members do some amazing things that I wish I had the skills to do. I specifically remember one member making a custom center console....AZ midget maybe???

If you really want something useful there, take your truck to a body shop and see if anybody there has the skills to do what you want done and what it will cost.

IMO the edge/gryphon pod looks great where it is, no need for one in the center, but if you have the cash or time get it done.

That's where your cell phone goes, or if you have a GPS.

Pretty much. Turns out CDs can be pretty blinding.

I personally don't like the pod the edge comes with. The F250's have a replacement A-pillar dual gauge pod, and a place where your edge sits right on the pillar it looks stellar!

I wish like you know what they made it for the F150.
