07-08 oem flares on 05

i just tried to put on my flares i got off ebay and they wont fit.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...id=p2759.l1259

they're advertised at 04-08

i'm replacing the textured flares on my 05 fx4 and the fron flares are a little thinner and the threaded bolts wont line up.

any one else had this problem????

I am not 100% on this but in looking and researching for flares for my XLT the oem/factory part numbers and prices are different for the lariat and fx4. So I guess it is possible that for some strange reason the bolt holes are in different places. I ended up with the aftermarket ones. But it should be about as cheap for you just to have your current flares painted I would think?

WTF? that is so weird! my truck is an '05 and the my PTM flares came off of an '08. i assume they are both OEM? maybe the '08 was a step side and yours isnt? thats the only thing i can think of

Yeah that is definately gonna be a problem. Other than trying to drill new holes, I wouldn't suggest it, I don't know what you could do? If you can find a part number on them someplace you might check with the local ford dealer to see if they can tell you what it came off of? Or ask the guy off of ebay for that matter.

the new ones look like they are for a stepside

even if they are, the fronts should line up exactly...lots of guys have put the Lariat flares on FX4 and vice versa without issues

what does the eBay guy say?

well the hole set came off the same truck and the back ones fit great. its just the front ones that are off. it's not sweet though the guy is suppose to get 10 new pairs in this week and seend me some replacements off an older truck.

if any one is looking some already painted flares these folks seem to be VERY easy to work with.
