HID's BI-XENON Necessary?

Looking at HID's and want to get your guy's input.

Spent the extra and get the BI-XENON or is it not really necessary?

I don't think I have used my brights once for the two and a half years I have owned my truck...

BTW, they are about 60 bucks more.

In my opinion, bi-xenon is not necessary. The lights aren't any brighter, they just move the bulb up. To me that's more parts to break, a motor that could go out, more wiring, etc.

I went with the Hi/Lo kit that gives it a halogen bright light to use for passing inspection and that's it. No need for bright lights when you have HID lows.

Just my opinion though.

Is the DDM kit plug 'n play? How do you like it?

I too want to keep halogens for my brights, in case I get pulled over or for some reason need to show "the man".

yes it was plug-n-play
i love them , its not the halogen high beams though , theres a "motor" type deal on the bulb, which just moves the bulb up in the housing. so its really a Bi-xenon kit.

i originally ordered the apexcone kit , but they sent me the silm ballast kit, which i would recommend , the ballast's are smaller than the palm of my hand.

the apexcone kit is $60 + $25 for the HI/LO bulbs.

i would recommend the Hi/lo bulbs either way , b/c they send you a wiring harness with it , which is worth $25 alone .

Not really necessary, but I'm very upset I didn't get the Hi/lows. I use my Hi beams a lot, especially on the trails, and places I visit in the country. I wish I had Hi beam HID's although the Low beam HID is virtually as bright as a Halogen high beam.

Believe so, that appears to be the exact same kit I have.

Not really that necessary, some people like the function of having a hi beam but like stated before all it does is move the bulb up a tiny bit. I had them for a while and very rarely used them. If you do get the the hi/lo make sure the computer chip for the hi/lo function is mounted correctly and water proofed. Mine wasn't and I went mudding and got mud water in the chip and fried it completely and it became a huge mess.

Only reason I got them is to pass inspection. I've got the DDM kit and am very happy with it.
