HIDs

I've done the search on HIDs. I keep getting a lot of mixed info. I'd like to do the HID conversion on my headlights and fogs. What kit and manufacturer do most here recommend?

This has been discussed to death, but here are the basics.

H13's for the headlights
H10's for the fogs

You have two options with the headlights:

Bi-Xenon - both highs and lows will be HID. Technically the bulb just moves up w/ a motor when you hit the high beams.

Hi/Lo - HID low beams and halogen high beams. Cheaper option w/ less moving parts and worked better for me and my preference.

Xenonlink, Retrofit, and DDM are all very good kits. I went w/ Xenonlink for their known good customer service and support here on this forum. All my questions were answered quickly and the products were delivered as promised.

If you do a search for each of those three companies you will see lots and lots of reviews on all of them.

Thank you for the info. What is usually recommended, 5000K, 600K, 8000K, or 10000K? Is the relay harness needed?

6000K is right on. Anything higher, you will actually lose candle light. Most stock applications will be in the 4300K-500)K range.

For the most part, a relay harness is not necessary. Although the DDM and some other kits will require wire taps to correctly install the heads.

These instructions were perfect - http://www.f-5performance.com/instructions/hidhowto.htm
