cam phaser design

Does anyone know if the replacement cam phasers are an updated design? If so what did they update are change? My 05 f150 has had both right and left bank cam phasers replaced at 35,000miles ,and then the death rattle at start up came back again a year later, so i took it back and they replaced the left cam phaser. So far no noise at startup. I just wonder if the cam phasers will keep going bad, and their is no permanent fix. ps the part number the stealership used each time they replaced them was # 3R2Z*6A257*DA thanks....

One heck of a good question. You'd think they improved given the newer years don't have that problem... right.

I wonder if driving styles can make the phasers go bad?
