Check this thread

There's a link to the guide I used. It was pretty easy, just make sure you use the TOP cooler line at the transmission. This is the return line from the trans cooler. If you use the bottom, you'll spray oil everywhere.

I would get it flushed as well, did mine, think it was $150.
Decided to have dealer do it as I have the extended warranty. I was afraid if tranny failed in the future and they found out it wasn't flushed they wouldn't cover it.

I just dropped my pan and replaced the filter, not a full flush but cheaper and easier.

Isn't the recommended flush interval at 150,000 miles?

I did flush first time, 2nd time drop pan and filter. Problem with with that is you only change @ 30% of your fluid as the rest is in the tq converter. So flush is better. I put in Royal Purple...

If you want your tranny to die at 90,000 miles, go for it...

Yes, and it also says 100K on the spark plugs. Ever known a plug that lasts past 60K miles without going south?

There is a thread going on right now about people with plugs older than 100K. And yes, I've had two vehicles where I replaced the plugs at the recommended 100K and when I pulled them they didn't look worn out at all.

Smooth shifting is the number one problem with Ford (can't speak about other manufacturers) automatics. And sitting in OD when it shouldn't would be second. The bands always seem to be the weak link. The fluid outlasted the bands and cheap nylon bushings in my previous experience.
