painted mirros and door handle pictures

does anybody have pictures of their mirrors or door handles that they had painted over the existing stock black ones. i just got a quote of $400 bucks from a shop and he said that when he paints them there will still be texture to the mirrors and handles. anybody have a picture close up of the texture or far away to see what they look like.
and is there a website where i can buy mirrors and handles ready to paint that will turn out smooth when painted????

thanks much

Go get a different estimate! That is way too much, and they should be smooth when done. Yeah, it will take some sanding and a few coats of primer, but they should definitely not have texture when completed.

WAY TOO much?

Seems reasonable.

Are you even factoring in the labor of removing the handles? The materials cost alone will be at LEAST half that $400. At LEAST!

$400 seems pretty good, as a matter of fact, you may want to ensure that they give you some sort of WRITTEN guarantee in case their workmanship is not up to par. Don't want to have those handles peeling in the near future.

To the OP,
I'm sure you have attempted to call around to see what the going rate in your area is so you have a decent reference point, yes?

I have a buddy that owns a body shop and I had asked him about painting some stuff on my truck. To paint the mirrors, door/tailgate handles, and FX4 grill. He quoted me 450 if I help him take everything apart and put it back to together and help him to the prep work. He was guessing that materials alone would be about $300, so 150 for his labor and use of his shop wasn't too bad I didn't think.

But after looking at how much textured plastic is on my truck, I decided no to paint anything and just leave it the way it is.

Ive got the PTM flares already on in my gallery. I should get my truck back today or tomorrow with the PTM handles. I decided not to do the mirrors. I thought it wouldnt look to good.

So, $400 for 5 handles and mirrors that will have a textured finish when done? Yeah, that seems like a reputable painter.

I have seen several threads on here that have had people getting quoted less than $200 for just the handles. And, since it is a such a simple task to remove these parts, I assumed the OP would be removing them himself.

Maybe $400 is fair to some people, but I would never pay that much.
