Keep the stock 20"s or go to an 18" with more sidewall?

My tax return was just direct deposited on Friday and I do need to get new tires for my truck. I have the stock 20" wheels and I was just going to buy tires....Nitto Terra Grapplers. The best price I could find was $975 shipped in the 275-55-20s. But I have bee thinking about going down to an 18" and getting Rockstars with Toyos for $1500 shipped. Would there he any benefits to going down to an 18" with 275-65-18s? ....or should I just stick with the stock wheels and replace the tires? I have stock suspension and I'm going to keep it stock until my extended warranty is up at 75K miles.

I was thinking that the smaller wheel and more sidewall would give the illusion of lifted truck.

Keep the 20's. That seems high on the Nittos. I can get you the Toyo AT's for about $100 less and the Toyo's typically cost more.

You're better off saving the money...adding a lift and then going with larger tires on the 20's.

How about just getting a leveling kit and getting some 305/55/20's. (33") That would look great.

Wouldn't a leveling kit mess with my warranty?

Here is what the 305's look like on OEM 20's with a leveling kit. This is jlstang351's truck.

I dont think a leveling kit will void your warranty.

Your truck looks great. I really like the OEM 20's and they look really good with 33's on them.

Same wheels, but with Mickey's instead (305/55/20). IMO, they "look" more aggressive. Just my take tho....

Regarding the warranty issue, it all depends on the dealer. My good friend is a Service Dept Manager at a Ford dealership and he said they would honor a warranty claim if you had a leveling kit, but that he knows other managers that would not.
