What a pain in the rear!

I got an extra set of head,Tail and third brake light from agadawg to try my luck at painting black. The tailight's and third brake light was a little difficult to get the right amount of darkness accross the whole light's but I managed to get them pretty close. Then I decided to tackle the headlight's! What a pain those thing's are to get separated you have to treat them like a dirty ***** to get the front lense separated from the back. It has taken me 6 hour's to get them both apart and painted. Hopefully I can get them sealed up and installed tomorrow. I'll be sure to post some pic's when i'm done. So far I like the look's of the tinted tail's and third brake light. I left a little bit of the reflector's visible to try and keep my truck safe. Sorry for the post but I had to vent a little. My freaken hand's are blistered to hell. LoL

i also painted my headlights today. i am going to put the lights back together tomorrow. it was a HUGE pain getting the first one apart. it was in and out of the stove four times, untill i figured out the process. the second one only went in twice. they were ptm. the black looks good on other trucks but i feel that the "blacked" out look has been done too many times. i will post pics when they get reinstalled. I feel your pain.

The first one I done went better than the second. I stuck it in the oven for 10 minute's @ 250 degrees got it out and had it apart in about fifteen minute's but the second one I had to put it back in the oven three different time's. I'm not going for the blacked out look just wanted to get rid of some of the chrome on my truck. Post up pic's of your truck I bet it look's sweet with the headlight's red.

Here's a couple pic's of the tinted tail and third brake light with my headlight's painted black. As you can tell I left some of the red visible on my taillight's for safety reason's.

Looks really good man! I didn't paint my heads, I was lucky enough to buy painted OEMs from another member here. But I did do my fog lamps, and that was a PITA with the super small work space of masking inside them. I'll be smoking my tails and brake light soon, did it sucessfully easy on my Silverado last year though, looking forward to it.

I cant decide whether or not to do this, I like the chrome headlight, and dont know how the dark taillights would look, but I also like the black ones in the front

If I were you I would ptm your headlight's red. I think the red truck's look better with ptm'ed headlight's instead of black. If you do decide to try this just remember patience is your best friend. LoL I still have my stock light's. I was worried I might screw up one of the light's so I just got another set of factory head, tail and third brake light's from a member on here. Good luck!
