Question Intermitant Battery Light

I know I should have this checked out by the dealership while I am still under warranty, but I hate going into shops especially now a days with the economy so bad everyone is just trying to make a buck. But my battery light has been intermitant for the last few months. It comes on at random times, I have not been able to find a common factor for it yet. It usually stays on for about 30 minutes then shuts off. The instruments and lighting do not surge or dim, the truck starts fine even when I turn it off with the battery light on, there are no fault codes and the battery holds and charges fine. Any ideas? I appreciate the help as it is more annoying at this point than concerning.

Have you had your altenator/battery tested? Autoparts stores will typically do this for nothing.

Battery light has nothing to do with the actual battery. Its for your alternator, but you may be slowly killing your battery so may be a good idea to throw a new one in there after replacing the alternator
