you could get 3.55 or 3.73's depending on the year. i don't think any of the shocks were rancho, they just had different valving. the limited slips are junk IMO. do a search, this topic has came up before.

FX4's can be had with either 3.55's or 3.73's, or atleast they were in 04 and 05. 06-08 I am guessing are the same way, but I don't know for sure. The shocks are not Ranchos they are just valved different than the ones on other models of trucks. Skid plates, LS diff and different gauge cluster on FX4 models

4.10 are not OEM gears on a FX4...or any other normal F-150. You can only get 4.10 on a Heavy Duty F-150 (7 lug 10.25 axle)

Actually you could get 3.55's with 18's. One of my former neighbors has a truck that is a twin to mine, but completely bone stock. His has the stock 18's and also a different axle code and when I looked it up, the code was for 3.55's. His dads truck, a 05 FX4, had the same code. Maybe they switched something with the gear ratios when 20's became a factory option?

As long as it is a true FX4, and doesn't just have FX4 stickers, then yes it will have the 5.4L

Sometime in the 08 model year 4.10's became optional with the 18" and 20" wheels.

Should have been that way all along.

When I got my current truck, 3.55's were the only available ratio with 20's on an FX4. Later in the 07 MY 3.73's became optional.
